  1. At Christmas time on my moms side, we always have a huge Italian feast. We have lots of garlic bread, salad with Italian dressing, spaghetti, Linguine, and little thingers that are like spinache pops. They were quite nice. Saucyyyyy =]]]

We always have it because everyone on my mom's side is really italian, and i get a bit of it from her. They're dark skinned, dark haired, big bearded and...pretty funny. ^.^ So...Italians aren't going to have turkey for Christmas. Especially MY family's Christmas. That'd be border lining on Blasphemy.

  2. Every Christmas Eve my family makes homemade ice cream. We make it in the morning and freeze it for the day. Then, after eating our meal, we make the ice cream in our ice cream maker. It's not super healthy, but it's not horrible either. If someone has the time to make ice cream, I would suggest others try it.

  3. Soo, my family doesn't really have any traditions because its just like an obligation to go to family get togethers. I guess I would wish that we had scrambled eggs and grilled cheese made by yours truly ever holiday because they are delicious. I guess if you make them with the correct ingredients and not add stupid unhealthy stuff than yah, they can be healthy. I would recommend this food to everyone, because it is the best food in the world and people love it, and I love it..EVERYONE loves it.

  4. My favorite family food tradition is when we make homemade pizza every year. We just always eat it for Christmas eve, there is no reason for it. No it is not healthy, it has a lot of grease on it. We put mushrooms, pepperoni, canadian bacon, hotdogs, browned hamburger, cheese, black olives, and the basics crust and sauce. Yes I would recommend it to others because it's amazing.

  5. My family has many different traditions that we eat on different occasions. On almost all holidays that I celebrate with my dad's side of the family we have lefse. We have potato lefse which I help make. It probably isn't very healthy but I don't really like it unless it has ham in it. Most people just put sugar and butter on it but I think that's nasty. When it has sugar on it, it definitely isn't good for you.

  6. Umm...we eat ham and mashed potatoes or homemade pizza every Christmas and like if we're at my dad's then we have homemade tortillas and have some kind of spicy food. everything we eat is healthy like the homemade tortillas and the spicy dishes are made from scrap. so they have fresh veggies and meat and junk. the ham is bought at the store but the potatoes aren't instant. i don't have stories about when we eat. I'd recommend the spicy food to anyone you likes spice.

  8. I'd have to say.. lefse and potato sausage is my favorite family traditional food. Lefse is probably not too healthy because i load mine with sugar but it's delicious. Potato sausage is probably kinda healthy but i'm not sure. Also we have homemade ice cream and mush because my uncles are farmers. Mush is whole milk mixed with umm like flour or something. Haha Neither of them are probably healthy though.

  10. Cherry Cheesecake, My aunt makes this for every holiday! I love cherries and cheesecake; hence the cherry cheesecake. Cheesecake is not the healthyist meal but I only get it on certain holidays. Another tradition is at my G'mas house we have her sweet corn every Christmas, thanksgiving and every other visit! we make it because it is a very simple and delicious meal! This is a healthy part of our meal. My aunt also brings her cheesy potatoes to xmas. I think they are not a very heathy meal but it is in moderation.

  11. This is personally not my favorite but probably my parents and my grandparents favorite. Their favorite food tradition is probably Polish sausage. They always bring it over for Holidays and Special occasions. My family is Polish with some other cultures mixed in. I like it but is not my favorite food tradition.

  14. Our family doesn't really have big food traditions, but we do have the usual lefse and krumkakas during Christmas time. When in season, my dad usually makes jelly and jam using grapes and plums that we grow. I think homemade jellys are better than store bought, fersure. But I was raised on it so, who knows. My dad also makes salsa, completely from scratch. Delicious!

  16. We don't really have any family food traditions. I mean, of course, on special occasions like Christmas or Easter we cook something special too, but it is always something different. Most of the time my family tries to eat healthy though, and my family on my mother's side is Russian, so that also influences what we eat. Actually there is a lot of Russian food that I like, because it is healthy and you have to cook it fresh and do it yourself, so you can see which ingredients you put into the food.

  17. Our family tradition when it comes to food is getting all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins together and we all go to our family restaurant. We always start by ordering a bunch of quesadillas (some plain and some with green chilles) then after that we all go crazy and get some of everything off the menu. We all take some of whatever we want and its hard to eat after that 'cus we all PIG OUT! I don't really know any of the ingredients.
